“ICT as a Tool for a Student-Centered Classroom” I 16th-23rd January 2022

Proud to announce that the first group of four teachers (Ana Pereira, Mafalda Araújo, Inês Queiroga, and Elisabete Martins), on behalf of the Erasmus+ Programme “O processo de inovação pedagógica do AEBA – capacitação de docentes” (which foresees three courses and six mobilities involving twenty-four teachers), is already in Berlin and attending the course “ICT as a Tool for a Student-Centered Classroom” at the Europass Teacher Academy, which “offers a unique opportunity for teachers from around the world to exchange best practices, grow their skill set, and discover innovative teaching and learning strategies for greater student achievement and family engagement”.
We are aware that applying new technologies to the educational field is the key for our teachers, especially if we consider that Boa Água emphasises the use of ICT (Information & Communication Technologies) as a tool for student-centred and cross-curricular learning. This course explores the Interactive ICT, web and digital based tools for an effective blended, flipped and cooperative learning.
This one-week course at Europass Teacher Academy in Berlin gave us a lot of hints on how to successfully integrate ICT tools at school as well as improving teaching to motivate and engage our students in our classrooms, making sure they can be responsible for their learning. No doubt the use of ICT tools in education enables students to critical thinking and problem-solving skills and leaves them better prepared to communicate, create, disseminate, store, and manage information.
The sessions were really very interesting, and we actually explored the most relevant ICT tools for teaching, exchanged best practices and shared materials among the groups and talked about teaching competences, cross-curricular themes (bullying & cyberbullying, for instance) and how to better innovate, accelerate, enrich, and extend our digital skills.
We would like to thank to Mr. Francesco Molinari, our teacher trainer and Mr. Frederico, our helpful guide who led us in two outstanding cultural tours across the city centre of Berlin and the nearby city of Potsdam (both included in the course programme) for this unforgettable week!
Teachers Ana Pereira, Mafalda Araújo, Inês Queiroga & Elisabete
